R. J. Valente Gravel, Inc. is one of the Capital Districts largest Material Handlers. With over 40 dump trucks and numerous gravel pits throughout, we are able to offer timely service and quality products to both residential and commercial customers.  In 1989, Roderick “Roddy” J. Valente began doing what he knew best. After working his family’s business, Valente Gravel, he took a chance and started his own company, R. J. Valente Gravel, Inc.  With one dump truck, a bull dozer, and dispatch located from his kitchen, he started rolling.  As time went on, Roddy began to acquire more trucks, equipment, property and employees. In 2006 our Quarry opened and began operating, with state of the art crushers and screening equipment.  R. J. Valente Gravel, Inc. is a family business owned and operated by Roddy, with his children, daughter Daniella, son, Stephen and nephew, Anthony.  Together with a very dedicated staff they have brought the company where they are today. 

Throughout the years, we as a family and company are conscious of how lucky we are in and in return strive to be honorable corporate citizens.  Some of the charities we have worked with include, The Ronald McDonald House, Make-A-Wish Foundation and The Center for Disability Services, among numerous youth and athletic teams.

Our philosophy has always been no job is too small or too large. We have always been able to supply the homeowner based on one load and able to service jobs over one million yards. As illustrated, supplying the Fountain Ave. Landfill in Staten Island via barge F.O.B. Albany, N.Y. In addition to servicing the Capital District with our D.O.T. approved stone products from our quarry located in Grafton, N.Y. we have been supplying numerous blacktop and concrete companies located in the New York Metropolitan area via the Hudson River.  We are proud to employ in excess of 80 employees in peak season and are an equal opportunity employer.
